HUAJING Base is located in the south of Xuhui District in Shanghai . It is mainly engaged in providing a perfect R & D platform for enterprises working in the fine chemical industry, bio-pharmaceutical and new materials. Huajing Base will cooperate and develop together with its settled guests.

The construction of R & D Center is divided into four phases that cover a total of 60 mu. Nearly 40 foreign and domestic enterprises have chosen ECUST Park as their home in Phase I, Phase II, and phase III (hereafter referred to as the "R & D Building")has been just constructed completely, with a grand land area of 15 mu and a floor space of 11,400 sqm. The "R & D Building" is a high standards building, because it is invested in by Shanghai Longhua Industry Company, designed by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Designing Institute and planned by Shanghai Scientific and Technological Park of ECUST. It possesses two towers, each of which is 5-stories, and fits national standard on fire protection of laboratories as well as environmental protection. In addition, it is especially suitable for those enterprises home and abroad working in related fields of R & D to set up their own R & D center and laboratory. Phase IV will be a multifunctional building, but will not be put into use until year 2007.

In addition, the R & D Center is close proximity to ECUST where companies can get the most advanced technological support as well as recruit talented persons in the field of technology and management to research and develop projects with ECUST.
